Anne Benowitz serves as Vice President, Economic Development and Workforce Initiatives for the Greater New Haven Chamber and is responsible for the Chamber’s business retention and expansion efforts. Her focus is making connections and providing resources needed to retain and expand the businesses here in Connecticut, as well as the development of talent pipelines through the Regional Sector Partnerships in the New Haven area.

Anne brings a tremendous breadth of experience, spanning over 30 years, in business development, marketing, administration and entrepreneurship. After earning her paralegal degree, Anne worked for a major bank in Connecticut and has since held positions in HR for Exxon and marketing for a sports company managing a column in the Wall Street Journal and Money Magazine, called “Sports Business”. She ultimately, moved into business development with Northwestern Mutual in Fairfield County, and eventually to New Haven to pursue work in the executive benefit marketplace, where her clients were among the Fortune 500. As Special Projects Coordinator to the Dean at the Yale School of Management, she managed operations for the Advisory Board, speakers, and other school operations. She moved on to run her own marketing and business development firm for ten years, prior to joining the Chamber’s business development team.
