Cindy Layman participated in the TPM Academy® in 2019.
She is the Assistant Program Coordinator at St. Clair County Intergovernmental Grants Department – Workforce Development Group. Through partnerships with business, education, and economic development, Cindy aims to develop training services that will match or exceed employer hiring demands. The accumulated knowledge and skills have been acquired in the areas of work-based learning (On-the-Job Training, Apprenticeships, and Incumbent Worker); coordinating and attending job fairs; attending Chambers of Commerce meetings and other business networking events. This has also resulted in experience helping unemployed and underemployed achieve employment or careers by providing resume advice, interview tips, job leads, job search support, and labor market information.
Knowledgeable in policies and eligibility for the Adult and Dislocated Worker programs of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Trade Assistance Act; Rapid Response; reviewing files for eligibility for the Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs and Trade Assistance Act programs; scheduling and conducting workshops; career counseling; and proctoring assessments.
